Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging art lessons aligned with district and state standards
• Teach a variety of art techniques, media, and art history concepts
• Encourage creativity, self-expression, and critical thinking in students
• Audit and evaluate student work, providing constructive feedback
• Maintain a safe, organized, and inclusive classroom environment
• Manage classroom behavior and promote positive student conduct
• Prepare and organize art materials, tools, and equipment
• Display student artwork and support school art showcases or exhibitions
• Adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs and abilities
• Communicate regularly with students and families regarding progress

Qualifications

• State Certification as a High School Level Art Teacher
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignments
• Successful prior art teaching experience for the appropriate grade level preferred
• Organizational skills, ability to implement positive supports for all students, and ability to work cooperatively with others
