'26-'27 Part Time Faculty Pool - Aviation Maintenance Technology
About the role
Seattle Colleges is looking for innovative and dedicated faculty members, who have a demonstrated commitment to working within a college community that is diverse and serves students from a broad spectrum of socioeconomic and academic backgrounds. Faculty will teach part-time in a wide range of Aviation Maintenance Technology courses. Successful applicants will have the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, staff and others in a campus climate that promotes cultural diversity and multicultural understanding in an urban environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality instruction using effective teaching strategies that support diverse student populations and promote student learning.
- Audit student progress and provide constructive, timely feedback to support academic success.
- Ensure course materials are accessible to students in compliance with digital accessibility standards.
- Demonstrate a commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment.
- Utilize appropriate educational technologies and communication tools to support teaching, learning, and administrative responsibilities.
- Uphold the mission and values of Seattle Colleges by supporting student achievement and contributing to a positive learning environment.
- Maintain and submit required documentation such as course information, academic credentials, and professional references as part of the application and employment process.
Requirements
- Current certification from the Federal Aviation Administration in both Airframe and Powerplant.
- Current work experience in General or Commercial Aviation.
- Broad base of experience that will enable delivery of current industry practices to the students enrolled in the program.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively.
- Demonstrated ability and commitment to teach multiple levels of on the topic of study.
- Innovative teaching methods including the use of technology and collaborative learning.
- The ability to work collaboratively with others in a professional setting.

Skills
- Ability to operate office equipment, receive and interpret data, and prepare various materials.
- Ability to exchange information with supervisor, lead, co-workers, and students.
- Ability to provide 1:1 support, present to small groups, and work at a computer exercising repetitive hand motion.
- Work is performed primarily in office settings with frequent interruptions and encounters noises typical of these settings.
- Ability to perform a range of physical motions, exerting up to 25 pounds; lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds; standing, walking, sitting for long periods of time, kneeling, squatting, and stooping; and traversing up and down stairs.
Benefits
This position is a part time, non-tenure track faculty position that will provide instruction in the FAA-regulated Aviation Maintenance Program. This position may teach during the day or the evening depending on the instructional needs of SSC. The teaching requirement is for 6 hours of contact each day. Classes are offered each quarter for nine weeks.
Pay
The salary range for part time faculty is $8,845 - $13.248.33 for a 5-credit single-class (P2: A1- E7). Please note that all AMT classes have a 15-credit single-class workload per quarter.
