26-27 Middle School Math Teacher

KIPP Miami is part of the KIPP (Knowledge is Power Program) national nonprofit network of college-preparatory, public charter schools educating elementary, middle and high school students. Founded in 2018, KIPP Miami operates two nonprofit charter schools in Greater Miami’s Urban Core community, serving students in grades K-4 at KIPP Royalty Academy and 5-8 at KIPP Courage Academy.

About the role

Our middle school is seeking dynamic teachers to guide students toward college and beyond. Teachers at KIPP Miami are leaders both in and outside the classroom, passionate about education, and committed to building strong relationships with students, families, and the community. We are seeking a Middle School Math Teacher with expertise in Pre-Algebra and Math to help students succeed through a strong foundation in mathematics.

Responsibilities

• Create, internalize, modify, and prepare lesson plans in accordance with the academic curriculum, collaborating closely with the grade-level team
• Use data to teach responsively and ensure mastery of academic skills
• Work closely with students, families, and colleagues to foster a supportive environment for student progress
• Reinforce a firm foundation for all classes and uphold classroom management techniques
• Assist with diagnostic and progress monitoring testing across the school
• Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to meet learning objectives
• Update student performance trackers and use data to guide lesson planning
• Participate in school, departmental, and parent meetings
• Engage in school events, activities, and programs both during and outside regular class hours

Requirements

• A belief in every student’s limitless potential
• A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (official transcripts required prior to the starting date of employment)
• Appropriate state teaching certification completed or in process
• Subject matter expertise in math (Pre-Algebra/Math)
• A minimum of two years of teaching experience, with demonstrated interest in working with students from diverse economic and cultural backgrounds
• A track record of success in the classroom
• A collaborative attitude toward teaching and learning

Preferred Qualifications

• A record of exceptional student achievement and results at a high-performing charter network or charter management organization

Pay

KIPP Miami offers competitive salaries starting at $53,450 for first-year teachers. Additional annual compensation is available based on performance, extracurricular program leadership, school-based leadership, and more.
