26-27 Middle School ELA Teacher
About the role
KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks middle school teachers for our fifth through eighth grade classrooms in the 2025-26 school year. Teachers are assigned one grade level and are responsible for creating a positive classroom environment, implementing curriculum, assessing students, collaborating with their team, building relationships with families, and other duties as assigned. Full teacher responsibilities are ultimately outlined by their Principal.

Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- Relevant Florida Teaching Certification or Eligibility for Certification in one of the following areas:
- Elementary Education K-6 for 5th or 6th grade ELA
- English 5-9 for grades 5,6,7, or 8
- English 6-12 for grades 6,7, or 8
- At least one complete year of teaching experience with a proven track-record of high achievement in the classroom
Qualifications
- Florida Reading Endorsement (or reading competency coursework in progress) if teaching English Language Arts
- ESOL Endorsement (or competency coursework in progress)
- Two or more years of teaching experience with a proven track-record of high achievement in the classroom in a relevant grade level

Compensation and Benefits
- Current starting salary for a first-year lead teacher is $50,000
