About the role

This position requires a current Oklahoma Teaching Certificate with appropriate subject area endorsements. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field and possess a broad scope of knowledge in the subject matter.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and apply principles of child development to facilitate learning and provide diverse learning opportunities.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with district and site objectives, adjusting for individual and group differences.
  • Evaluate students' academic growth using both standardized tests and teacher-designed assessments, and communicate results to parents.
  • Manage classroom routines to minimize discipline issues, handling minor problems independently and establishing clear behavioral expectations.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to address students' health, attitude, and learning issues, and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Supervise students during out-of-class times, assist special education students as outlined in their Individual Education Plans, and maintain accurate records.
  • Participate in school improvement planning, faculty committees, and team efforts, and demonstrate professionalism and ethical conduct.
  • Utilize discretion, ingenuity, and independent judgment to solve complex problems and manage the computerization of school district operations.

Requirements

The successful candidate must adhere to all district policies and procedures, including safety guidelines, dress standards, and attendance policies. They should also be able to communicate effectively with parents and students, and demonstrate creativity, initiative, and effective problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field is required, along with a current Oklahoma Teaching Certificate with appropriate subject area endorsements.

Skills

Effective customer service skills, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to handle multiple tasks are essential. Proficiency in using administrative computer systems and the ability to train others are also beneficial.
