26-27 Kennedy Elementary -Physical Education Teacher

About the role

This position is responsible for delivering quality education to students within the Norman Public Schools system. The successful candidate must hold a current Oklahoma Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans that align with district and site objectives.
• Facilitate learning experiences that cater to diverse student needs and abilities.
• Evaluate students' academic growth using both standardized tests and teacher-designed assessments.
• Administer group-standardized tests as per the district testing program.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on students' progress.
• Identify and address students' needs, including health, attitude, and learning problems.
• Establish and maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment.
• Supervise students during out-of-class times and assist special education students as needed.
• Participate in school improvement planning and faculty committees.
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding their children's progress.
• Adhere to district policies and procedures, including safety guidelines and dress codes.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field from a college/university recognized by the State Board of Education.
• Current Oklahoma Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsements.

• Understanding of child development and its application to teaching.

Pay

Schedule
