About the role
This position is responsible for delivering quality education to students within the Norman Public Schools system. The successful candidate must hold a current Oklahoma Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsements.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with district and site objectives.
- Facilitate learning experiences that cater to diverse student needs and abilities.
- Evaluate students' academic growth using both standardized tests and teacher-designed assessments.
- Administer group-standardized tests as per the district testing program.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on students' progress.
- Identify and address students' needs, including health, attitude, and learning problems.
- Establish and maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment.
- Supervise students during out-of-class times and assist special education students as needed.
- Participate in school improvement planning and faculty committees.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding their children's progress.
- Adhere to district policies and procedures, including safety guidelines and dress codes.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field from a college/university recognized by the State Board of Education.
- Current Oklahoma Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsements.

- Knowledge of subject matter and recent developments in teaching.
- Understanding of child development and its application to teaching.
- Ability to organize classroom routines and manage classroom discipline.
- Proficiency in using technology to enhance teaching and learning.

Pay

Schedule
