  • Uses NYS standards educational research to inform instructional practices.
  • Uses formative assessments to gauge student understanding.
  • Has experience with evidence-based social-emotional learning strategies to promote emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of the RULER approach is preferred.
  • Uses knowledge of students and student performance when planning lessons.
  • Infuses culturally relevant practices to ensure that lessons reflect the diverse backgrounds and experiences of all students.
  • Integrates diverse perspectives and voices into instructional materials and resources to broaden students' understanding of the world.
  • Maintains high expectations for all students.
  • Engages in regular, collaborative professional development with the understanding that team efficacy is greater than individual efforts alone.

  • NYS Childhood Education Gr. 1 - 6 OR PreK-6 Certification
