About the Role

KIPP Jacksonville seeks a full-time lunch/hall monitor at KIPP Bold City High School. The monitor ensures the safety and well-being of students, staff, and school facilities by supervising hallways and the cafeteria.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure norms and expectations for hallways and cafeteria are adhered to using positive reinforcement and clear expectations.
  • Follow the school’s steps to manage student behavior.
  • Maintain the schedule for grade levels, including overseeing transitions, monitoring time, and giving time warnings.
  • Assist students through the serving line, hallways, and staircases as needed.
  • Direct students to their tables and classes.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Promptness.
  • Passing a background check, as required by law (Florida House Bill 531 mandates screening through the Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working with high school students.

Pay

Hourly rate: $14/hour.

Schedule

  • 6:45 AM – 3:45 PM, Monday through Friday.
  • Maximum of 40 hours per week.
  • Occasional meetings or special school events outside of these hours may be required.
