About the role

This position is within Norman Public Schools and requires a current Oklahoma Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsements. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Possess a broad scope and knowledge of subject matter and participate in curriculum development programs.
  • Understand and apply principles of child development and use various strategies to facilitate learning.
  • Define objectives, evaluate students' academic growth, administer standardized tests, and keep accurate records.
  • Organize classroom routines, handle classroom discipline, and communicate with parents about students' progress.
  • Assist special education students and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Work cooperatively with administrators, colleagues, students, and parents.
  • Perform teaching and reporting requirements for state and federally funded programs.

Requirements

  • Current Oklahoma Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsements.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field.
  • No prior experience required for this position.

Evaluation

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with Oklahoma laws and Norman Public School Board of Education policy.
