About the role

The Communication program at Fresno State presents a balance of humanistic and scientific instruction including communication skills people need to function effectively in teaching, business, law, the communication professions, public service, politics and management. Students have an opportunity to explore the full range of human communication.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate courses such as: Introduction to Public Communication, Group Communication, and Persuasion or other classes that may be identified as needed to fulfill educational goals of current students.
  • Adhere to and implement university and system-wide policies as directed per Academic Policy Manual 306, paragraph 2.
  • Prepare, deliver, conduct, proctor, and grade lectures, office hours, homework assignments, quizzes, class projects, and midterm and final exams.
  • Offer and meet all classes as scheduled throughout the entire semester, in the mode assigned and listed in the schedule of classes (i.e. asynchronous, synchronous, in-person, or hybrid).

Requirements

  • A Master's degree in Communication or closely related field.
  • Demonstrated commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Pay

Commensurate by qualifications and experience within salary range placement. The salary ranges are established by the CSU Salary Schedule (Class Code = 2358 for Academic Year Lecturers).

Schedule

Temporary faculty members are responsible for adhering to and implementing university and system-wide policies as directed per Academic Policy Manual 306, paragraph 2.
