About the Role
Diagnoses problems and performs necessary repairs on machinery and related mechanical equipment while helping maintain a safe work environment.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical faults through discussion with operators, listening to machinery, referring to O&M manuals, and/or using specialized testing equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance on rotating equipment (fluid level checks, oil analysis, greasing bearings, verifying alignment, inspecting couplings, vibration, etc.).
- Manage and coordinate a diverse range of complex assignments requiring the use of experience, innovation, and judgment.
- Apply knowledge, understanding, and experience with positive displacement/centrifugal pumps and compressors, screw compression, etc.
- Identify and promptly act upon or efficiently organize efforts needed to address safety and operational efficiencies, and protection of community, personnel, environment, and assets.
- Clean, lubricate, and tune mechanical equipment to ensure proper operation.
- Repair damaged or faulty parts with new or rebuilt components.
- Apply knowledge, understanding, and experience with mechanical seals, gaskets, sealing materials, and process applications (Viton, Buna, Aflas, etc.).
- Perform alignments on rotating equipment.
- Monitor and read gauges to verify sufficient levels of fluids, pressure, and temperature.
- Maintain records of daily activities and prepare progress reports.
- Maintain employee confidence and protect company assets, including intellectual property, by keeping information confidential.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Three (3) years minimum of oil and gas mechanic experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised, act on acquired knowledge of facility functions, and anticipate and correct problems proactively.
- Ability to routinely operate machinery/mechanical equipment unsupervised while maintaining facility safety, environmental compliance, and accurate records.
- Ability to recognize non-standard or non-routine conditions, notify supervisory staff, and recommend solutions.
- Availability for 24-hour on-call support for questions and emergencies.
- Advanced mathematics and mechanical skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public.
- Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with different truck groups that transport product.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Ability to make independent, rational decisions as required.
- Highly motivated and capable of working alone.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle in and around process areas.
- Commitment to safety in all decisions.
- Self-starter, team player, and comfortable working under pressure.
Qualifications
Graduation from high school or GED equivalent, or any equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating sufficient knowledge, ability, and skill to handle the duties and responsibilities of the position.
