256374 (AJM) Biomedical Support worker Level 3

NHS Lothian is seeking applications for Biomedical Support Worker level 3 (Band 3) positions within the Department of Histopathology at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and Western General Hospitals.

About the role

We are inviting individuals with an interest in working in a hospital laboratory environment. Candidates should have an enthusiastic and flexible attitude to work. The successful candidate will perform a range of laboratory duties in support of clinical services, including equipment maintenance, stock control, general housekeeping, and manual handling tasks.

Requirements

• Educated to SCQF level 7 (e.g., HNC; SVQ 3; Personal Development Award; Modern Apprenticeship; IBMS Certificate of Achievement Part 1)
• Proven knowledge and application of IT skills (essential)
• Knowledge of anatomy (desirable)
• PVG Scheme membership/record (required for regulatory groups, i.e., child and/or adult)
• Legal permission to work in the UK (required)

• 1x post based at Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh
• 2x posts based at Western General Hospital

These are permanent positions at 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday (days only).
