About the role

Applications are invited from enthusiastic, well-motivated, pre-registration Clinical Scientists to work in the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh/Lauriston Place Hub lab Infection Genomics Service. This is an opportunity to work in a newly developed service in NHS Lothian providing sequencing analysis of pathogens for public health interest, developing work started during the COVID pandemic.

Responsibilities

As part of a team, you will be involved in many highly skilled procedures and specialist testing. The post would suit an enthusiastic, well-organised and highly motivated individual.

Requirements

  • BSc honours degree in Microbiology (2i or 1st) or equivalent experience
  • Good IT and communication skills
  • Experience of molecular techniques

Pay

Salary £35,392- £42,618

Schedule

36 Hours per week, 12 Months Fixed-Term, with flexible working.
