About the role

The Meadows Child and Adolescent Trauma Service in Edinburgh is seeking a full-time Mental Health Practitioner to join the team. The role involves providing a multi-disciplinary and systemic approach to children and young people aged 0-18 years and their families dealing with emotional, behavioral, and mental health issues following allegations of sexual abuse. The service covers Edinburgh and the Lothians, and also serves refugees and asylum seekers.

Responsibilities

  • Individual assessment and therapeutic work with children and young people
  • Parent/carer work
  • Family work
  • Liaison and consultation with the child/young person’s wider system

Requirements

  • Innovative, motivated practitioner with excellent assessment, care planning, and communication skills
  • A professional qualification in a relevant field such as nursing, social work, occupational therapy, or psychology
  • Experience working in CAMHS or the ability to transfer existing skills and experience to this field
  • Knowledge and working experience of sexual abuse and mental health issues

Pay and Schedule
