$25/hr+ Circle Saw Worker - Experience Needed (POV)

Safety

Safely operate the circle saw according to procedures and production requirements
Maintain steady production flow while balancing safety, accuracy, and recovery
Monitor lumber, logs, saw performance, alignment, vibration, cut quality, and material flow
Recognize and communicate equipment issues (jams, vibration, misalignment, abnormal operation)

Responsibilities

• Cut logs, cants, or lumber to the correct size and mill specifications
• Maintain production flow while ensuring safety, accuracy, and recovery
• Monitor equipment performance and communicate issues to maintenance and other team members
• Coordinate with supervisor, shift lead, maintenance, and other production team members to support mill throughput
• Absorb and follow written and verbal instructions
• Stop work and report unsafe conditions, equipment issues, or abnormal saw performance immediately
• Follow lockout/tagout procedures before clearing jams, making adjustments, or entering restricted areas

Requirements

• Prior experience in a sawmill, lumber operation, manufacturing, equipment operation, or similar hands-on environment
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to make quick, consistent production decisions
• Mechanical aptitude and awareness of when equipment isn’t running correctly
• Reliable attendance and willingness to work as part of a team
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Must be at least 18 years old

Skills

• Experience operating saws, particularly circle saws
• Knowledge of pine logs, cants, and lumber sizing
• Basic troubleshooting skills
• Forklift, loader, or maintenance experience (a plus)

Pay & Schedule

• Full-time role
• Overtime, weekends, and schedule flexibility may be required based on production needs

• Industrial sawmill environment
• Exposure to noise, sawdust, moving equipment, vibration, and varying temperatures
