The San Juan Unified School District is seeking a skilled educator for a full-time position in Special Education (SPED) at Kenneth School. This position is open for applications.

About the role

This role is for a SPED Moderate & Severe position. The position includes various opportunities for additional pay, as outlined in the attached TK-12 Salary Schedule for the 2025-26 school year.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction and support to students with moderate to severe disabilities.
• Collaborate with other special education teachers, administrators, and parents to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Assist in the development and implementation of educational programs tailored to meet the needs of students with disabilities.
• Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
• Contribute to the overall educational environment and contribute to the success of students.

Requirements

• A valid California Teaching Credential, preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
• Experience working with students with moderate to severe disabilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse student population.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
• Experience working with students with complex needs.
• Knowledge of assistive technology and its integration into classroom settings.
• Experience with data collection and analysis to inform instructional practices.

Skills

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in using educational software and tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $126,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
