About the Role
Provides fast, friendly, helpful, and efficient service to all Price Chopper customers. Manages the overall operation of the produce department, including budgeting, financial results, product ordering, human resources/training, and inventory control. Oversees clerks within the department and monitors merchandising, rotation, and inventory levels to promote optimal sales. Ensures high levels of customer courtesy and service from all produce associates and executes merchandising programs according to guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Consistently provide fast, friendly, helpful, and efficient customer service.
- Handle and merchandise all produce products according to company policy.
- Demonstrate complete knowledge of all produce products to assist customers.
- Greet customers with a smile, make eye contact, and thank them for their business.
- Maintain a neat, clean, and organized workstation following 5S standards.
- Achieve all budgeted financial figures for the Produce Department as outlined in the store profit plan.
- Manage day-to-day operations of the Produce Department.
- Oversee product merchandising, including arrangements, displays, rotation, and inventory controls.
- Order all merchandise and supplies to meet company standards for department conditions.
- Control inventory levels to company standards.
- Manage the produce department to meet company efficiency standards.
- Assume all responsibilities of the Produce Department as per company guidelines.
- Forecast and achieve developmental needs for future staffing growth in the Produce Department.
- Manage the store as needed at the discretion of the Store Manager.
- Ensure accurate fulfillment of all customer orders and deliveries.
- Follow all corporate and state sanitation and safety procedures and regulations.
- Train all new associates in produce operations.
- Control shrink through adherence to related policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to manage others and demonstrate follow-through to achieve desired results and objectives.
