About the role

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) supports adults 22 and over with intellectual and developmental disabilities by advocating for them and helping them maintain their daily routines. Duties include household maintenance, meal preparation, shopping, bathing, toileting, dressing, teeth brushing, and assisting with medical appointments, banking, community activities, medication administration, following Behavior Support Plans, Individual Support Plans, and medical guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Advocate for and support individuals with disabilities
  • Assist with daily living tasks such as household maintenance, meal prep, shopping, bathing, toileting, dressing, teeth brushing, and grooming
  • Absorb and assist with medical appointments, banking, and community activities
  • Administer medications as per Behavior Support Plans, Individual Support Plans, and medical guidelines
  • Follow Behavior Support Plans, Individual Support Plans, and medical guidelines
  • Evacuate individuals from the home safely in case of emergencies
  • Maintain certifications and comply with agency policies and DDS regulations

Requirements

  • Must be 21+ with reliable transportation and valid driver's license
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Knowledge, skills, and abilities as listed above
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in fluent English
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules including holidays, overnights, or double shifts
  • Qualifications

    Pay

    $17.50 - 19.00 per hour

    Schedule

    Part-time: 30 hours per week
