2028 Project Management Intern

About the role

Kwest Group’s internship program offers hands-on experience in Project Management for individuals pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Project Management Interns will support the Senior Project Manager and Project Managers with estimating and project management tasks across multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Travel to project sites as needed.
• Assist in the preparation of quantity take-offs for proposals.
• Assist in the preparation of project setups.
• Provide clerical support to the project management team.
• Contact suppliers and subcontractors for quotes.
• Schedule and assist in the management of subcontractors and suppliers.
• Provide vendor support and solicitation for bids and ongoing projects.
• Assist senior project manager and project managers in pricing bid documents.
• Request accurate and timely reports from the project foremen, suppliers, and subcontractors assigned to all projects.
• Represent Kwest Group in a professional manner.
• Maintain a positive attitude and good working relationships with customers, employees, and the public.
• Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or a related field.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software.
• Effective organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
• Strong client-facing and teamwork skills.
• Solid math and analytical skills.
• Ability to schedule and complete tasks without direct supervision.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

• Frequently required to sit; talk or hear; and use hands to handle, or touch objects or controls.
• Regularly required to stand and walk.
• On occasion required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders.
• Travel from site to site is required.
• Work environment will normally be an active construction site with exposure to dust, noise, high heat, extreme cold, and rain.
• Must be physically able to perform repetitive motion and heavy lifting.
• Must be able to maintain effective audio and visual discrimination necessary for assigned duties.
• Must wear all employer-mandated personal protective equipment, including hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, safety vests, and safety-toed work boots. Additional PPE may be required based on special safety concerns.
• Must be able to hear with or without a hearing device and clearly see at least 30 feet with or without corrective lenses.
• Must be able to differentiate and identify colors.
• Must be able to work while wearing a respirator if necessary.
• Must be able to alternate standing and walking on uneven terrain surfaces such as hillsides, muddy and icy soils, and other working surfaces.
• Must be able to continually lift up to 50 lbs for distances of 30 feet or more.
• Must have knowledge of occupational hazards in the construction field and standard safety practices.
• Must be able to pass the 30 Hour OSHA testing and First Aid/CPR requirements before starting work.
• Must complete and meet requirements under the physical demands of this job description through a pre-employment physical examination.

Pay

Starting rate: $21.00 per hour.
