2027 Winter LAWbound® Academy

About the Program

LAWbound® is part of the Cesar A. Perales (CAP) Leadership Institute that works to increase the Latinx pipeline to law school. The LAWbound program provides targeted services during a week‑long course that address common barriers to admission to law school. Scholars may be current college students or recent graduates who have not yet applied to law school. Participants receive reading materials to prepare for the week‑long course.

Eligibility Requirements

• Demonstrate a strong interest in pursuing a legal education
• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program or a recent graduate, pre‑law
• Demonstrate strong academic potential
• Submit a personal statement and resume (personal statement to be included in the Additional Documents section when uploading the resume)
• Be able to attend the full prep program from January 11 – January 15, 2027, daily 12:00 – 5:00 pm ET
• Provide a recommendation letter
• Program is hybrid; local participants are strongly encouraged to join in person

Program Schedule

The prep program runs January 11‑15, 2027, with daily programming from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm ET. The format is hybrid, with an emphasis on in‑person attendance for local participants.
