Division Information

PACCAR’s Information Technology Division (ITD) in Renton, WA uses cutting‑edge technology to provide systems development, consulting, voice, and data communications services to PACCAR divisions worldwide.

About the Role

The internship is aimed at curious, creative, and motivated individuals passionate about information technology with a special interest in enterprise‑scale cloud services. Interns will explore new technologies, collaborate with technical teams, and may lead projects, gaining real‑world experience to develop professional skills.

Responsibilities & Projects

• Deployment of cloud services to multi‑cloud environments using DevOps methodologies.
• Instrumentation of deployments to enable networking and containerized workloads.
• Cloud operations improvements.

Required Experience & Skills

Minimum Technical Qualifications

• Experience coding in at least one of the following languages: Python, TypeScript, Rust.
• Experience with shell scripting (Bash or PowerShell).
• Understanding of GitHub and CI/CD automation.
• Understanding of cloud or distributed computing concepts.
• Familiarity with networking concepts.

Preferred Technical Qualifications

• Experience with cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) – highly desired.
• Experience developing and deploying containerized workloads – highly desired.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi, Bash).
• Understanding of distributed systems and the three pillars – scalability, reliability, and performance.

Education

Recently graduated with a Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

Pay

• Undergraduate enrollment – $25 / hour.
• Graduate enrollment – $30 / hour.
