About the role

As an integral member of the team, Associates play a meaningful role in new business development, due diligence, and transaction execution. Associates work with senior professionals to identify and evaluate opportunities and then meet with and present to prospective clients. Associates must demonstrate a mastery of financial and accounting concepts to facilitate the creation or review of in-depth financial models involved in transactions. Associates are also charged with drafting internal and external documents and marketing materials utilized in transactions. Associates often take a lead role in executing transactions and working with clients, attorneys, investors, interested parties, and other senior professionals on a daily basis. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills are necessary to be effective in the position.

Candidates who receive a general Investment Banking Associate offer could be placed within one of the following groups:

  • Consumer & Retail
  • Energy
  • Financial Institutions
  • Healthcare (incl. Life Sciences)
  • Industrials & Services
  • Financial Sponsors
  • Technology, Media and Telecom

Prior to joining on a full-time basis, Truist Securities’ Associates participate in up to seven weeks of a comprehensive training program in Atlanta. Training consists of classroom instruction in an introduction to capital markets, products and services, accounting, corporate finance, systems, and financial modeling training. The goal of training is to equip Associates with the skills, knowledge, and tools to quickly adjust to a fast-paced, dynamic environment and make an immediate contribution to their team.

The majority of Associates will be placed in Atlanta, GA; New York, NY; Charlotte, NC; Houston, TX; or Chicago, IL.

Requirements

  • MBA from a leading program with a scheduled graduation of December 2026 or May/June 2027
  • Minimum of 3 years work experience required
  • Ability to understand complex financial products and desire for significant transaction execution responsibility
  • Proven analytical ability and attention to detail
  • Solid leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Superior written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Concentration in Finance
  • Previous background in financial services and/or experience as an Analyst

Pay

The annual base salary for this position is $175,000 for all locations.

All regular teammates (not temporary or contingent workers) working 20 hours or more per week are eligible for benefits, though eligibility for specific benefits may be determined by the division of Truist offering the position. Truist offers:
