2027 Summer Internship - Human Resources
About the role
Airbus is seeking a Summer Intern – Human Resources to join the HR Team at its Kinston, NC facility. The intern will gain exposure to multiple HR areas including HR Operations, Recruitment, Compensation & Benefits, Employee Relations, and related functions. Working within the HR department, the team supports Airbus’ greatest assets – its team members – and collaborates cross‑departmentally and with global counterparts to enhance the employee experience. The Kinston site manufactures large advanced composite aerostructures for the Airbus A350 XWB, such as the composite center fuselage and wing spar. As part of the Summer 2027 Intern Program (May 17 – August 6, 2027), the intern will work on a project supporting the Positive Employee Relations team in preparing the site for expansion, receive a dedicated project mentor, and present findings to the executive team and CEO in a roundtable discussion.
Responsibilities
- Administrative (≈70%): Assist with HR/People Operations administrations including recruitment, onboarding, administrative paperwork, drug & alcohol program; create/maintain personnel, benefit, and electronic job folders; create/maintain PO/PR for HR; data entry into ADP/SAP/LMS; assist with employee questions; prepare outgoing mail/shipments; order supplies; send birthday cards and/or sympathy memorials.
- Compliance (≈15%): Schedule and track 90‑day performance reviews; prepare monthly reports as needed.
- Employee Event Planning (≈15%): Assist with service awards and birthday celebrations; assist with employee engagement events; assist with diversity and inclusion events as necessary.
- Additional Responsibilities: Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a relevant college/university degree program (required)
- Able to work onsite in Kinston, NC for the duration of the Summer Internship (required)
- Ability to work in the United States without current or future need for sponsorship or work authorization (required)
