2027 Summer Internship - Chemical Engineering - AIC

About the role

Aquatech is a global leader in water purification systems technology for both industrial and infrastructure markets located in the United States and internationally. We support our clients with sustainable water purification systems and technologies that are solving the world's water scarcity challenges. Aquatech has an immediate need for a full-time Chemical Engineering Intern to work in our Canonsburg, PA office this summer to support the Engineering group. The intern will be considered a Non‑Exempt employee. The role is sedentary, involving sitting most of the time with limited walking and standing, and requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Get on‑the‑job training while supporting an experienced Applications Engineer
• Perform water treatment proposal preparation
• Review Request for Proposal (RFP)
• Perform process calculations involving heat and mass balance
• Size water treatment processes and equipment
• Help review Process Flow diagrams (PFD), Piping & Instrumentation diagrams (P&ID) and equipment layout drawings
• Follow up for vendor quotations for major equipment and commodity items

Requirements

• Must have completed at least two years of undergraduate courses in Chemical or Environmental Engineering
• Familiarity with water purification processes (e.g., membrane separation, chemical softening) desirable

Skills

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Schedule

• Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (40 hours per week)
• Internship is temporary employment for a maximum duration of ninety (90) days
