About the Program

Innovative Ag Services (IAS) is accepting applications for their 2027 Summer Internship Program. IAS recruits talented individuals who will be a good fit now and as future leaders in agriculture. The program provides tools and resources to help students learn the ins and outs of a cooperative and assist with solidifying their career paths within the agricultural sector.

Innovative Ag Services is a full-service farm cooperative offering supplies and services to meet farm needs, including grain, agronomy, feed, energy, and building supply markets. Serving over 5,000 members across 30 locations in northeast and central Iowa and southwest Wisconsin, IAS ranks as one of the Top Agricultural Cooperatives in Iowa.

About the Role

Primary Objective: To gain experience in multiple areas of the agriculture business while providing the company with operational abilities safely and effectively for the benefit of IAS and its member owners.

This Agronomy Internship - Level II is designed for Junior and Senior-level students enrolled in post-secondary education. In addition to completing tasks assigned in Agronomy Level I, Level II interns will develop skills and work habits by working alongside Agronomy Sales Advisors, gaining real-world, on-the-job training within the field of agriculture. Level II interns will also have the opportunity to promote the sales of all Innovative Ag Services products and programs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Major in Agronomy, Crop Science, or a related field of study.
  • Proficient and confident technological skills, especially with Microsoft Suite. Exposure to scouting software and soil scan machines.
  • High level of initiative, effort, and commitment toward completing assignments efficiently.
  • Ability to communicate information or ideas effectively in written or oral form.
  • Ability to organize, manage change, and work on multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Ability to obtain a Class A or B CDL with hazmat endorsement (seasonal CDL is a plus).

Work Environment

  • Agricultural environment with possible exposure to seasonal weather, outdoor conditions, and agriculture products.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required for some tasks.
