About the Internship Program

Key’s Enterprise Internship is a 10.5-week program that provides meaningful work, feedback and coaching, and engaging events that spark interest in a full-time career at Key. Interns work on line-of-business projects that impact Key’s strategic pillars. The program includes networking with teammates at all levels, Learning Labs on Key’s competitive landscape, financial wellness, and professional development, and an assigned mentor.

About Internal Audit

The Internal Audit function at KeyBank provides independent assessments of Key’s processes and risks. As a trusted advisor, Internal Audit tests the adequacy and effectiveness of risk management practices, recommends improvements, and monitors remediation efforts. Internal Audit reports to the KeyCorp Audit Committee, the Board of Directors, executive management, and regulators.

About the Internal Audit Internship

The 10-week summer internship offers experience on various audits, working closely with seasoned professionals to develop auditing skills. Interns gain exposure to multiple lines of business and interact with their leaders. Placement may be in areas such as Lending, Deposits, Payments, Compliance, Capital Markets, or Asset Management. The team operates remotely across over 20 states, with optional in-office work for those near Buffalo, NY or Cleveland, OH. High-performing interns may be offered a full-time Rotational Analyst position upon graduation.

Responsibilities

• Staffed on one or two audits, gaining insight into all phases (planning, fieldwork, and reporting) and learning about various parts of the organization.
• Work assigned based on the current reviews in process on your assigned team, following Internal Audit’s annual Audit Plan.
• Typically work 8-hour days, not exceeding 40 hours per week.
• Attend audit-specific training and enterprise-wide Learning Labs.
• Network with other Internal Audit Interns and members of the Senior Leadership Team.
• Culminate the internship with a Spotlight presentation to Senior Leadership and managers, highlighting your experience.

Qualifications

• Must have completed at least three years toward a four-year undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Information Systems, or another business-related field, with anticipated graduation in or before May 2028.
• Outstanding academic achievement (minimum 3.25 GPA).
• Demonstrated leadership and teamwork from past work experience and/or extracurricular activities.
• Solid analytical, problem-solving, communication (oral and written), and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.

Pay

This position offers an hourly rate of $23 per hour and includes a $2,000 Summer Internship Sign-on Bonus.
