2027 Summer Intern - System Engineer

About the role

As a System Engineer Intern, you will engage in multiple parts of the V-Cycle simultaneously, including proposing customer-tailored solutions using Stryten’s Lithium building blocks, evaluating customer feedback, and understanding failure modes. You will evaluate needs, elicit requirements, and create and execute verification and validation plans for Stryten’s new generation of lithium packs.

Responsibilities

• Perform operational analysis and develop concept of operations, design, and implementation plans
• Develop test plans, procedures, and use cases
• Build bench test systems, conduct tests, and document results
• Use software tools, scripting, and software/hardware troubleshooting
• Elicit and analyze systems requirements from end systems and users
• Support development and evaluation of complex system designs and architectures
• Develop and deliver presentations to communicate design activity plans and status to internal and external customers

Requirements

• Graduating between December 2027 and May 2028
• Working toward a BS in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• GPA of 3.0 or greater
• Must have housing and transportation
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or at any time in the future

Skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good record-keeping and documentation skills
• Computer applications knowledge in the Windows environment with MS Office

Physical Demands

• Hearing, speaking, seeing, writing, standing, lifting (50 lbs.), sitting, bending, walking, and carrying

Work Environment

A normal office and lab environment is typical. However, there will be periodic field and factory visits where there is some exposure to industrial environments, including lithium and lead-acid batteries.
