About the Role

At PepsiCo, R&D Full-Time hires are primarily placed in our two headquarters locations: Plano, TX and Purchase/Valhalla, NY (New York). In some cases, Full-Time hires may be placed in satellite locations. Location preferences will be discussed during the interview process.

As part of the R&D team, you will collaborate with cross-functional groups, including technical experts and business unit leaders, to design, execute, and launch innovative products across PepsiCo’s portfolio. Your role will span the entire innovation lifecycle, from ideation to product launch, leveraging your technical expertise.

Responsibilities

  • R&D Engineer (Product or Process Engineer): Provide insight and technical expertise to drive new product development and process improvements.
  • R&D Food Scientist: Participate in the product development process, including idea generation, prototype development, product optimization, and production start-up for beverage and snack categories.
  • R&D Global Functions Specialist: Contribute to frameworks in one of four pillars: Compliance, R&D Data and Systems, Technology Ventures, and Global PMO. Potential teams include:
    • Quality, Sensory, Food Safety
    • Data Intelligence and Management Analytics
    • External Innovation, Scientific Affairs, Regulatory Affairs
    • Product Crisis & Incident Management, Supplier Quality Assurance
    • Nutrition Science, Microbiology

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing an Engineering, Food Science, Agriculture, or related degree.
  • Must graduate with a bachelor's or master's degree within one (1) year of internship completion.
  • Eligible to work in the United States without work authorization sponsorship.
  • Ability to translate business objectives into strategic and tactical project goals.
  • Proven track record of making significant technical or scientific advances using internal and/or external resources.
  • Understanding of how to incorporate business needs into technical decisions.
  • Ability and interest to work in laboratory, pilot plant, and manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with data science is preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple assignments or tasks.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel.

Minimum Qualifications: Candidates should be completing at least their first year of studies. This position is limited to persons with indefinite right to work in the United States.

Pay

The expected hourly pay range for hires into our 2027 campus intern openings is $21.09 - $44.40. Role, degree discipline, degree level, and location are factors in determining the starting salary. Hourly pay for campus hires is pre-determined and non-negotiable.
