About the role

As a Liaison Engineering Intern at Bell in Amarillo, TX, you will work alongside experienced engineers who analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve aircraft issues—often through design of repair. You will support Build Team and Quality team members to find immediate alternative solutions in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. The internship runs June 1–August 7, 2026, and is designed to help you determine your enthusiasm and fit for this work.

Responsibilities

  • Assist engineers in troubleshooting and resolving aircraft issues, including design of repairs.
  • Collaborate with Build Team and Quality team members to identify and implement immediate alternative solutions.
  • Work under the mentorship of career engineers and site-level leadership to gain hands-on experience.
  • Contribute to projects that support Bell’s advanced commercial and military aircraft programs.

Requirements

  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher with a major in Mechanical and/or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Minimum 60 college credit hours completed prior to the start of the internship (June 1, 2026) or prior Bell internship experience.
  • Able to complete the entire 10-week internship: June 1–August 7, 2026.
  • 3.0 GPA or higher preferred.

What Will Make You Stand Out

  • Previous internship experience in an engineering role, preferably in aerospace, technology, and/or manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated experience working on cross-functional teams, involving coordination, collaboration, and critical thinking.
  • Experience troubleshooting, disassembling, inspecting, repairing, reassembling, and testing complex mechanical systems (e.g., automotive components, farm equipment, robotic devices, or personal projects).
  • High integrity, strong work ethic, and drive to succeed in a complex work environment.
  • Direct knowledge and interest in making the high desert of the Texas Panhandle your future home.
  • Strong computer skills with focus on 3-D Modeling, Planning, Database, and Microsoft Office Tools.
