Nixon Peabody is seeking a 2027 Summer Associate to join the Affordable Housing & Real Estate Practice Group in Rochester, NY. Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, briefs, and other documents.
• Provide substantive support to attorneys on commercial real estate projects, including development, land use, zoning, municipal law, and financing matters.
• Assist with matters related to affordable‑housing developments.
• Receive and incorporate substantive feedback and mentoring on assignments.
• Participate in various training programs throughout the summer program.

Requirements

• Second‑year law student.
• Demonstrated interest or experience in commercial real estate work (development, land use, zoning, municipal law) and related financings, especially affordable‑housing projects.
• Strong academic credentials (minimum 3.0 GPA).
• Superb judgment and communication skills.
• Excellent legal writing ability.
• Commitment to teamwork and high‑quality client service.

Pay

The anticipated salary for this position in Rochester, NY is $2,692 per week (good‑faith estimate at the time of posting).
