This position will be located in Redondo Beach, California. The successful candidate should plan to work full time during the Spring and Summer semesters (January–August 2027), with flexible start and end dates. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Participate in a co-op program to develop competencies in a variety of chemistry specializations.
- Perform a variety of duties in the chemistry laboratories.
- Design, execute, and report on experiments to support internal and external customers with materials qualification, production troubleshooting, and failure analysis.
- Operate related equipment and interpret results for project stakeholders.
- Recommend next steps and alternative testing for risk mitigation and remediation.
Requirements
- Enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university, graduating after August 2027.
- Majoring in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or a related field.
- Available to work full-time (40 hours per week) from January–August 2027.
- U.S. citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Overall cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.0 or higher.
Pay
- Bachelor’s: $26.75 to $32.50 per hour
- Master’s: $38.00 to $40.00 per hour
Pay rates are standardized and take into account graduation date, geographic cost of labor, and whether the role is technical or administrative.
