Summary & Objectives
MKS Instruments is seeking an exceptional Electrical Engineer Co-op to join the team. In this position, you will work alongside a team of experienced engineers to develop vacuum valve products and find innovative ways to solve customer problems.
Responsibilities
- Participate in design and development of analog and digital electronic hardware used to control vacuum valves.
- Assist with design, debugging and board bring-up of analog and digital real-time embedded electronics for microprocessor-based control and communication hardware platform using combination of simulation, analysis, prototyping and testing.
- Participate in project activities, including DFMEA, design reviews, and creation of technical specifications.
- Perform FAs for customers, make a corrective action plan to mitigate design issues and/or work with vendors to resolve component quality issues.
- Evaluate the design to meet requirements factoring in performance, cost, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Communicate technical information effectively in both oral and written form.
Required Skills
- Enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering or relevant majors
- Solid fundamental knowledge and skills in electrical engineering.
- Able to read and understand electrical schematics.
- Proficient with multi-meter, oscilloscope, and other equipment for embedded systems development.
- Good communication skills and a “hands on” approach to problem solving.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision with strong sense of ownership and desire for excellence.
