2027 Sargent Construction Academy - Paid Training

About the role

Sargent Construction Academy provides tools to forge a rewarding career in construction. You start earning pay the day you step into the classroom and continue training in the field. The program offers competitive pay and benefits starting as a full-time laborer with training to run heavy equipment or supervise crews. After completing the first construction season, you receive additional classroom instruction and hands‑on training during the winter months.

Who is this position for?

• Individuals who have graduated from high school at least 1 year ago, are new to construction, and want to learn the trade and start a career as a laborer (March/April 2027 start).
• June 2027 high school graduates looking to enter the workforce after graduation and learn the trade to start a career as a laborer (June 2027 start).

Training takes place at Sargent’s Training Facility in Orono, ME and on jobsites across Maine & New Hampshire. Classes begin March/April or June 2027.

Responsibilities

• Demolition and/or cleanup
• General construction labor
• Excavation
• Erosion control install and maintenance

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Driver's license (preferred)
• Willingness to travel 100% (required) – lodging, per diem, and most mileage paid
