About the role
The PPG Primers Internship Program is crafted to develop key skills supporting PPG's future initiatives. Named a top 100 Internship Program in the U.S., Primers offers participants the opportunity to assume responsibilities and gain real-world work experience.
- Full-time (40 hours/week), paid, 12-week internship running either May 18th – August 6th or June 21st – September 10th
- On-site at one of PPG's offices, plants, manufacturing sites, or research centers
- Focused on meaningful projects that expand academic knowledge and foster collaboration
- Projects may include process improvement, creation of new PPG products, updating current systems, researching best practices, and more
- Locations in Pittsburgh and Los Angeles, with potential for other sites based on business needs
Program Curriculum
- 2-day onsite onboarding and orientation at PPG headquarters in Pittsburgh
- “Lead the Way” series introducing interns to senior leaders throughout the summer
- Learning and Development workshops on professional communications, leadership, and networking
- Volunteer opportunities through community partnerships
- Mentorship via the One PPG Mentoring Program
- National Intern Day celebration with other Primers
- Final presentation to business stakeholders
- In-person and virtual networking events
- Real-time, real projects under supervisor direction
Requirements
- Undergraduate student graduating between December 2027 and May 2029
- Currently enrolled full-time in one of the following areas:
- Business Administration, Business Analysis or Analytics
- Chemistry, Research and Development, Processing and Testing
- Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Materials Science, and more)
- Environmental Health and Safety
- Finance
- Human Resources
- Marketing
- Information Technology, Cyber Security, Digital, AI
- Supply Chain, Logistics, Demand Planning
- Willing to relocate to an internship site for the program duration
- Demonstrate an interest in a career with PPG
- Only U.S. Citizens, Green Card holders, and political asylees or refugees are eligible to apply
Qualifications
- Maintain a 3.2 GPA or higher (preferred)
- Previous experience in manufacturing, operations, or a chemical company (preferred)
