About the Role

Lincoln International is seeking Summer Associates to join our M&A practice. Summer Associates generally work in the firm’s Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco offices while interacting with our global team. The role involves close collaboration with senior bankers and clients’ senior executives, with heavy involvement in every aspect of an M&A transaction. Summer Associates gain exposure to international clients and buyers, accelerating professional development and maximizing career trajectory.

Responsibilities

  • Performing financial analysis and valuations
  • Conducting industry research
  • Identifying and contacting potential buyers or acquisition targets
  • Preparing confidential information memoranda and management presentations
  • Hosting visits of potential buyers at client facilities
  • Supporting senior bankers in negotiations
  • Assisting during the due diligence and closing process
  • Preparing materials and actively participating in new business meetings
  • Contributing to the internal strengthening of the firm

Requirements

  • Fluent in accounting and finance with strong business acumen
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Assertive, self-motivated, and desire to succeed in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Prior M&A, capital raising, or investment banking experience is preferred but not required
  • Must be in progress toward obtaining an MBA from a top-tier program (2028 graduation) with an outstanding academic record

Pay

The salary range for this role is $175,000. This is the lowest to highest salary the firm in good faith believes it would pay for this role at the time of posting. The range may be modified in the future and is applicable for jobs performed in Illinois, New York City, and California. An employee’s pay position within the range will be based on factors including education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business needs. This role is also eligible for bonus pay.
