About the role
Citizens Bank is seeking Investment Banking Analysts to join the Capital Markets & Advisory (“CM&A”) team. Analysts work closely with junior and senior professionals preparing, analyzing, and executing investment banking transactions, primarily within the U.S. middle market. Analysts are assigned to active and prospective engagement teams across multiple industries and have the opportunity to grow professionally in a fast-paced environment.
Within CM&A, bankers are organized into four core groups:
- Industry Coverage: Originate and execute debt, M&A, and equity transactions across specific industry sectors through capital raising and strategic advisory solutions.
- Leveraged Capital Markets (“LCM”): Focus on the origination, structuring, and execution of finance transactions for corporate and financial sponsor clients, with a concentration on middle-market credits.
- Mergers & Acquisitions (“M&A”): Provide sell-side and buy-side advisory services for middle-market corporate and sponsor clients.
- Equity Capital Markets (“ECM”): Support the execution of equity financing transactions, including IPOs, follow-on equity offerings, convertible securities, and share repurchase programs.
Analysts are aligned with specific groups and may be further organized by sector coverage. Availability varies by office location:

- New York, NY: Industry Coverage (Healthcare; Gaming & Leisure); Equity Capital Markets (ECM)
- San Francisco, CA: Industry Coverage (Technology; Real Estate)
Responsibilities
- Financial Analysis: Perform financial modeling, comparable company and transaction analyses, leveraged buyout, and other valuation analyses.
- Preparing Information Memoranda and Transaction Documents: Draft key marketing and transaction-related documents.
- Supporting Team Members: Develop new business ideas, pitch strategies, or transaction structuring scenarios to help clients achieve strategic objectives.
- Preparing Pitch/Business Origination Materials and Presentations: Develop and assemble pitches and presentations and participate in delivering them.
Requirements
- Current students enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, graduating between Winter 2026–Spring 2027.
- Minimum GPA of 3.2; preferred cumulative GPA of 3.5 (include on resume).
- Relevant work experience, leadership experience, and coursework in Finance, Accounting, or Economics preferred (all majors considered).
- Strong analytical and software skills: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) proficiency required.
- Must currently be a U.S. resident with permanent authorization to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship available).
