2027 Intern – Test & Evaluation Engineer
About the role
The Northrop Grumman Test & Evaluation Engineers intern program offers a unique opportunity for recent college graduates to gain hands-on experience in a variety of test and evaluation engineering specializations. Interns will participate in lab and field tests, set up instrumentation and data acquisition, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and support the development of mission-ready capability.
Responsibilities
- Participate in planning and executing lab and field tests on components, systems, and software.
- Set up instrumentation and data acquisition, ensuring test configurations meet engineering and safety requirements.
- Collect and analyze test data to identify anomalies, edge cases, and performance trends.
- Prepare test procedures, logs, data summaries, and reports that communicate system performance to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, support root cause and corrective action, and help turn ideas into proven capability.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will be enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university, graduating after August 2027. They must be majoring in a STEM field, available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2027, and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance and Program Special Access within a reasonable period of time.
Qualifications
- A cumulative GPA of 3.25 out of 4.0 or higher preferred.
- Previous internship/co-op experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and professional/community/extracurricular activities.
- Good presentation and writing/communication skills.
- Self-motivated, willing to learn, and interested in working in a team environment.
- Experience in developing and delivering presentations and leading small groups.
- Experience in working on business or engineering full life-cycle projects from project inception through launch.
Skills
Basic technical skills in test and evaluation engineering, programming languages, and data analysis tools are beneficial but not required. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are essential.

Pay
Intern pay ranges under undergraduate degrees (including graduating students planning on attending/enrolled in a full-time Master’s program): $17.50-$39.00. Master’s: $24.75-$48.00. The campusjobs primary level salary range is $1.00 - $1.00. Depending on the position, employees may also be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
Schedule
Interns will work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2027.
