About the role
During this 10‑week summer internship, you will use your unique perspective and knowledge to help us find operational gaps and improve process efficiency in a way that makes a genuine mark on our business. You will support the Human Resources department, learn all HR functions, and complete a project related to HR issues.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to the HR department.
- Learn all departments of Human Resources including hiring, on‑boarding, orientation, EEOC, recruitment, community relations, investigations, training & development, technical training, talent development, payroll, policy enforcement, etc.
- Brainstorm ideas to improve programs focused on recruitment, retention, recognition, policy enforcement, etc.
- Observe the relationship and dynamics with the local union, if applicable.
- Potentially shadow investigations that could result in discipline or termination.
- Understand absenteeism and turnover metrics, how they are measured and why they matter.
- Learn staffing and crewing concepts, including “Available to Standard”.
- Work with Operations to ensure policies are adhered to.
- Assist in coordinating and implementing engagement surveys with the workforce.
- Gain exposure to performance management processes such as evaluations, promotions, and merit.
- Complete and present a project related to issues within the HR department.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in a four‑year university or pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- Ability to lift 50 lb or more.

Pay
$22 per hour with a $2,500 relocation stipend if applicable.
