2027 Gulf Regional Clerkship
The Gulf Regional Office of Earthjustice seeks to hire summer law clerks to support frontline communities in protecting the health and ecosystems of the Gulf region. Located in Houston, Texas, the office works to strengthen regional partnerships and defend the environment, addressing toxic pollution and large-scale fossil fuel expansion.

Founded in 1971, Earthjustice is dedicated to achieving significant, lasting environmental protections through legal action and community engagement. Our team includes thousands of partners who work on behalf of the earth. This summer, we are looking for motivated law students to join our efforts.
Responsibilities
- Work with attorneys on case development and litigation strategy
- Draft pleadings and briefs
- Do legal research
- Develop strategy and legal theories
- Gather evidence
- Attend client meetings and court proceedings
Compensation
The total stipend for the summer law clerkship will vary based on external funding, but it will be at least $1,382.00 per week, after taxes and any additional funding from law school programs. The program runs for 10 weeks at full-time hours (37.5 hours/week).
How to Apply
- Candidates must be enrolled in a U.S. law school through fall 2027 and be available for the entire summer of 2027.
