About the role

The Future Talent Program offers internships lasting 10‑12 weeks that include one or more projects. Opportunities exist in the Research Division’s Pharmaceutical Analysis & Digital Technology (PADT) and Large Molecule Analytical (LMA) departments located in Rahway, NJ; West Point, PA; Boston, MA; and South San Francisco, CA. Interns will work collaboratively in a team environment at state‑of‑the‑art laboratories to develop novel analytical methodologies that impact drug substance and drug product development. Day‑to‑day research focuses on solving key challenges in product and process characterization, providing exposure to core instrumentation for small molecules, biologics, and/or vaccines, manufacturing process characterization, and determination of drug substance/product chemical, physical, and biological attributes. Interns will learn fundamentals of analytical, physical, and biological chemistry method development, participate in departmental and project team meetings, maintain accurate electronic notebook records, analyze and interpret data for potential scientific publications, refine laboratory skills, learn new analytical techniques, engage with current analytical research challenges, understand practical aspects of drug development, and present research results in oral and written formats. The position is a full‑time summer internship.
