About the role

A Roark Analyst will work on deal teams led by a Managing Director or Principal, taking an active role in the analysis of prospective investment opportunities and monitoring of portfolio investments. They will interact directly with all members of the firm but will typically report to an Associate or Senior Associate.

Responsibilities

  • Taking an active role in the analysis of prospective investment opportunities and monitoring of portfolio investments
  • Interacting directly with all members of the firm
  • Preparing materials for and participating in meetings of Roark’s Investment Committee
  • Making presentations to Roark’s Investment Committee
  • Supporting deal teams in many aspects of the investment process including due diligence, modeling, data analysis, and industry research
  • Preparing detailed industry research
  • Evaluating potential add-on acquisitions
  • Assisting senior Roark investment professionals in developing investment strategies for new investment sub-sectors

Requirements

  • Outstanding academic credentials (min 3.5 GPA), preferably with a concentration in business, finance, accounting, economics, or a major evidencing strong quantitative ability
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Exceptional work ethic, deep analytical capabilities, and excellent writing and research skills
  • Positive, “can do” attitude regarding no task as too big or too small
  • Highly collaborative, open to feedback, willing to learn, and intellectually curious
  • Capable of simultaneous task management and able to quickly shift priorities while maintaining focus
  • Detail-oriented with excellent communication and organization skills
  • Energetic and highly motivated with a strong sense of urgency

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, investment banking, or consulting
  • Experience with financial modeling and valuation techniques
  • Experience with industry research and analysis
  • Experience with due diligence processes
