About the role

The Finance team at Millennium plays a critical role in supporting the firm’s operations by managing financial reporting, fund accounting, PM compensation, budgeting, analysis, as well as ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data. As a Finance Intern, you’ll work on a variety of cross-functional projects that provide insight into how Millennium supports its trading businesses and drives operational excellence. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to one of the teams below:

• FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis): Provides insights and decision-making support to senior leadership through budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis.
• Financial Reporting: Prepares financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial reports and dashboards for senior management, providing insights into financial performance and identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost allocation processes by collaborating with various teams across the firm.
• Reconcile financial data across departments to maintain consistency and integrity, while managing and analyzing large datasets to drive actionable insights.
• Review Portfolio Manager contracts and work on aspects of the PM Lifecycle from structuring of agreements to onboarding, and PM compensation calculations.
• Partner with trading businesses (Equities, Fixed Income, Commodities, and Quantitative Strategies) and Core Infrastructure teams on strategic projects, ad-hoc analyses, and firm-wide initiatives.
• Contribute to team-wide projects with the autonomy to innovate and develop new approaches to financial operations and business analysis.

Requirements

• Candidate graduating between December 2027 and June 2028.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.5 and above.
• Candidates must receive a bachelor’s degree.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and synthesize complex data.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with tools like Tableau, Power BI, or SQL is a plus.
• Interest in financial markets and a desire to learn about the operational side of a leading hedge fund.
• Familiarity with AI tools and technologies, with an interest in building and supporting AI-driven workflows.

Pay

The estimated base salary for this position is $85,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future.
