2027 Enterprise Finance Intern

We are hiring 7 Finance Interns to join our firm for the Summer of 2027. Interns will be immersed in a collaborative environment, actively participate in team discussions, and network with Finance professionals across Schwab. The Finance Summer internship serves as the primary pipeline for full‑time opportunities in our 2‑3 year Finance Specialist Rotational Program and, upon completion, interns will be considered for a full‑time role in the Schwab Finance Specialist Development Program (FSDP), a 24‑36 month rotational program.

Enterprise Finance (Corporate FP&A)

Enterprise Finance teams provide analytical and decision support to various business segments and product lines across the organization. Through collaboration and strategic partnership, they deliver financial insight to leadership for value‑adding decisions.

• Forecasting
• Investment prioritization through business cases
• Financial reporting
• Performance scorecard/metrics
• Process improvement
• Ad‑hoc analytics, including theme development and trend discovery within month‑end close activities

Central Planning

The Central Planning finance team provides analytical and decision support to all of Schwab’s business lines by collaborating with each Finance team within Enterprise Finance. The goal is to deliver consolidated financial insights to executive leadership.

• Ad‑hoc analytics and reporting for corporate leadership

Treasury Corporate Finance

The Treasury Corporate Finance team includes Treasury Capital Management, Treasury Services, and Treasury Capital Analytics & Reporting. The Treasury Capital Analytics & Reporting team handles business‑as‑usual and stress‑scenario capital forecasts, populates and files the FR Y‑14A annual filing form and related Schedule C, and builds, maintains, and automates the capital forecast data repository infrastructure and analytical reporting platform.

Treasury Securities Lending

This internship supports Data Science and AI projects in Securities Lending, leveraging data, analytics, and automation to improve trading decisions, risk‑management processes, and operational efficiency. Projects involve Python, data‑visualization tools, and predictive‑modeling techniques.

• Develop dashboards to monitor utilization and market trends
• Build models to forecast loan demand or rebate‑rate changes
• Explore automation opportunities for daily trading activity
• Gain hands‑on experience with industry‑standard tools and collaborate with traders and analysts

Finance Risk Management

The Finance Risk Management (FRM) team designs and implements a cohesive risk‑management strategy and framework across Finance, partnering across the firm to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity while safeguarding financial flexibility.

Required Qualifications

• Current student pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Internal Audit, Information Systems, or a related field
• Ability to begin full‑time employment between August 2027 and September 2028
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information clearly and professionally
• Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment
• Ability to work effectively in team settings while taking responsibility for assigned work and communicating progress
• Interest in risk management, internal controls, compliance, auditing, or financial reporting processes
• Authorization to work in the United States on a full‑time basis without employer sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

• Earning a bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or Finance
• Experience or interest in financial technology (Python, SQL, or data analytics)
• Curiosity to learn and apply financial reporting principles, regulatory requirements, and transactional deliverables
• Optimism with a keen sense of purpose, awareness, and knowledge
