Qualifications
- Minnesota K-6 or 1-6 Elementary Education Teaching License or must qualify for a Minnesota teaching license. The District is willing to consider candidates licensed in other content areas and provide support for an Out-of-Field Permit (OFP).
- Native or near-native fluency in Spanish (requires an "Advanced" rating under the ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines, assessed via InterviewIQ).
- English language proficiency sufficient for parent communication.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate native or near-native fluency in Spanish (ACTFL "Advanced" rating required).
- Develop and implement lesson plans and instructional materials tailored to individual and small-group needs, aligning with District-approved curriculum.
- Translate lesson plans into developmentally appropriate learning experiences using Total Physical Response (TPR) methodology for immersion instruction.
- Establish and maintain classroom behavior standards to foster an effective learning environment.
- Evaluate academic and social growth, maintain timely records, and prepare progress reports.
- Identify pupil needs, make referrals, and develop strategies for individual education plans.
- Communicate regularly with parents via Schoology, newsletters, phone calls, emails, and conferences.
- Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors in a supportive, team-oriented manner.
- Maintain and improve professional skills through meetings, PLCs, coursework, workshops, and seminars.
- Integrate technology into instruction.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, including emergency response and policy adherence.
- Coordinate and provide input on the work of paraprofessionals and volunteers, including goal-setting.

- Experience in an immersion program preferred.
- Proficiency in operating classroom technology, including computers and software.
