About the role
Throughout the intensive 10-week summer program, participants engage in a structured professional development curriculum featuring comprehensive training modules, an executive speaker series, educational workshops, mentorship programs, and cohort-based learning experiences. The position provides exposure to key business divisions including Actuarial Services, Asset Management, Business Management, Corporate Strategy and Development, Financial Analysis and Accounting, Human Resources, Internal Audit, Law and Policy, Marketing and Communications, Product and Business Development, Retirement Solutions, Risk and Compliance, Technology, and Wealth Management. The 10-week summer internship program is designed to challenge students by providing hands‑on experiences, skills training, and valuable professional networking to assist with identifying and building career interests. Interns gain experience and an overall feel for TIAA and the financial services industry by attending meetings, delivering presentations, exploring business‑specific tasks, and working closely with cross‑functional groups to better understand the Nuveen businesses. The program includes a robust training and onboarding process followed by an ongoing speaker series, lunch‑and‑learns, cohort engagement activities, and direct access to executive and senior leadership, mentors, and previous interns. The Business Intelligence program develops future leaders who can drive business strategy, product innovation, and operational excellence across the organization.
