The Opportunity

The Data & Analytics Rotational Development Program within our Auto Finance business is crafted for highly motivated college graduates with a desire to further their career in the field of Analytics and Data. The two-year program will provide an applied training experience where you will gain insight into the Ally brand, consumers and support analytics capabilities and emerging technologies. The program provides an accelerated career path focused on ensuring you have the knowledge and skills to be successful.

The Work Itself

This two-year program provides participants three, 8-month rotations in the Data Analytics & Data Science space. Within the rotations, the participant will have the opportunity to demonstrate their analytical, leadership, project management, problem solving, innovation, and communications skills. The program provides an immersive experience, development opportunities, and peer mentor provides an opportunity to learn and apply skills while creating a solid foundation to start your career. Auto Data & Analytics Rotations

  • Originations: Credit Policy Indirect - Driving Auto decisioning strategy for largest Auto lending bank, by identifying whom to approve/decline using data-driven approaches to help business manage to business plan, while staying within risk appetite. Strategy development and performance analysis to optimize Auto business performance.
  • Servicing & Portfolio Strategy:
    • Servicing Strategy - Servicing Strategy focuses on collections through post-charge off recovery to optimize portfolio performance. Optimize Auto servicing strategy using data-driven approaches to reduce NCO (Net Charge Offs) and enhance cost efficiency
    • Servicing Data Science - Leverage advanced analytics to drive servicing strategic decisions, optimize operations and enhance customer experiences. Key functions include developing customer segmentation and statistical or machine-learning models to support and improve servicing strategy and analytics
    • Portfolio Analytics - Proactively monitor originations, early performance, delinquency, and credit loss trends for all of Ally's consumer auto portfolio. Support end-to-end portfolio risk monitoring and analytics for Ally's consumer auto portfolio, including serviced and non-serviced portfolios.
  • Auto Finance Strategy:
    • Auto Valuations - Auto Valuations is part of the larger Pricing organization and focuses on vehicle valuations for several purposes. The team develops and uses various models, analytical tools and large data sets to produce its work. The team tracks and projects used vehicle values with the internally developed Ally Wholesale Price Index. The team also sets new vehicle residual values, prices vehicles for remarketing (both lease returns and retail loan repossessions) and provides portfolio valuation forecasts for both risk management and financial planning.
    • Loss Forecasting - Utilize modeled data, economic inputs, and quantitative and qualitative analysis to produce retail auto loss forecasts, support forecasting models, and deliver related reporting. Generate and report auto loss forecast results, reporting and models to support Allowance for Credit Losses (ACL), Capital Planning & Stress Testing (CPST), Corporate Auto Loss Forecasting, portfolio and vintage performance analytics, credit related executive reporting and earning presentations
    • Forward Flow - The Alternative Lending BU (Forward Flow) is an integral component of Ally's Auto Finance organization, complementing Ally's Indirect Lending BU. Its primary focus is the purchase of loans originated by external partners. Develop statistical models and monitoring dashboards to support strategic decisions, optimize operations, and enhance portfolio performance within Alternative Lending.
    • Pricing - Develops, implements, optimizes, tests, and analyzes rate strategies to achieve financial business plan targets while operating within the risk appetite framework.
  • Partner Support: Employee & Dealer Incentives - The Incentive Compensation department administers Ally's various employee incentive compensation plans across multiple business units including Sales, Collections, and other customer-facing positions. Perform end-to-end development, administration, and execution of incentive compensation plans. This includes strategic analysis, project management, model building, payment calculation, report building, and resolving participant/executive inquiries.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be graduating between July 2026 and June 2027
  • Graduating with a Bachelor's degree between December 2026 and June 2027. Students who go straight from a Bachelors to Masters Degree in this area may also be considered.
  • Eligible to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship from the company now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred majors include Informational Sciences, Data Science, Business Analytics, and Statistics.
  • Data-centric, collaborative and curious individuals with a high-level of emotional intelligence, adaptability and influencing skills who are eager to learn.
  • Ability to collect, manage and analyze data to solve problems and drive strategies across the Auto organization.
  • Extracurricular activities/leadership experience is preferred (student organizations, volunteering, sports, part-time roles, etc.).
  • Prior experience with SQL, Power BI and Python
  • Proven work experience or internship in financial services, preferred.
