About the role
Blackstone Data Science (“BXDS”) is the firm-wide team that uses AI and statistical methods to enhance investment decisions and business operations. As the first such team in private equity, BXDS integrates directly with Blackstone’s investing groups to answer mission-critical questions using data science, statistics, programming, and machine learning. The team leverages financial and alternative datasets to develop investment perspectives, accelerate growth at portfolio companies, and identify new opportunities. BXDS collaborates closely with deal teams and portfolio company management to underwrite investments, drive operating efficiencies, and create scalable tools that bridge quantitative and qualitative analysis.
As a Summer Analyst, you will work directly with senior management at Blackstone and top executives from portfolio companies, tackling stimulating quantitative work with tangible business impact.
Program Description
Blackstone's Summer Analyst Program is a 10-week in-person experience designed to provide extensive exposure across the firm. Participants receive mentorship, continuous feedback, technical and soft skill training, networking opportunities, and full immersion in Blackstone’s culture.
Responsibilities
- Apply data science techniques to evaluate live private equity and real estate deals.
- Collaborate with portfolio company management teams to drive business value.
- Curate novel insights using broad-ranging datasets.
- Develop innovative approaches to critical investment processes.
- Communicate technical outcomes effectively to non-technical stakeholders through business-friendly outputs and visualizations.
- Balance multiple projects and meet goals efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Proficiency in programming and querying languages (Python required, SQL preferred).
- Strong foundation in statistics and mathematics.
- Comfort working with and combining disparate data sources.
- Experience with analytical methodologies and a desire to solve novel technical challenges.
- Ability to drive key workstreams independently and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent commercial-mindedness and understanding of business/investment contexts.
- Experience developing AI and generative AI applications is preferred.
- Prior experience in a data-driven professional setting is preferred.
- No previous experience in financial services is required.
Qualifications
To be considered for the 2027 Summer Analyst Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program or pursuing a master’s degree immediately following undergraduate studies.
- Anticipated graduation date: Fall 2027 – Spring 2028.
- Resume must include expected graduation month/year and GPA.
- Resume must be in PDF format.

Pay
Expected annual base salary range: $110,000. Actual base salary within that range will be determined by experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. For roles outside the U.S., compensation will follow a separate process based on local market comparables. Additional compensation may include other forms of benefits or rewards.
