About the role

West Monroe is seeking Consulting Interns to join our Cybersecurity and Cloud & Infrastructure team aligned to our Technology and Experience (TechEx) Practice. As an Intern, you’ll have the opportunity to tackle business challenges using technology, including Cloud, Networking, End User Computing and Collaboration, and Cybersecurity. You will gain hands-on experience across projects, from requirements gathering to design, implementation, and deployment, while collaborating directly with clients across various industries.

As a Cybersecurity and Cloud & Infrastructure Consulting Intern, you’ll work with key decision-makers, including CEOs, CIOs, CTOs, and CISOs, and engage in specialized focus areas such as Cybersecurity Strategy, Cybersecurity Hardening and Risk Remediation, Cloud Migrations, Infrastructure Modernization, IT Strategy, IT Integration/Deployments for M&A Transactions, and Custom-Developed Product Risk Management. This experience will allow you to contribute to safeguarding clients' investments, enhancing the resiliency of critical technology infrastructures, and providing comprehensive solutions to complex business problems.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Partner with clients to assess systems, define requirements, identify enhancements, and develop performance-driven recommendations
  • Collaborate with teams to design and implement cutting-edge technologies and cybersecurity solutions
  • Learn and participate in the business development and sales process by assisting with project proposals, presentations, and new client activities
  • Exhibit an entrepreneurial mindset to shape approaches, methodologies, and solutions for client engagements
  • Proactively broaden and deepen technical, cybersecurity, business, and consulting skills
  • Build and demonstrate knowledge and expertise in one or several of the following areas (if you don’t know these, we will teach you!)

  • Cybersecurity Solutions: Identity & Access Management, Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR), Email and Collaboration Platform Security, Security Information & Event Monitoring (SIEM), Data Loss Prevention, Application Security

  • Enterprise Digital Workplace Systems: Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Entra ID
  • Operating Systems: Windows Server, Windows Workstation, Linux/Unix
  • Core Infrastructure Services: Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, NPS, file and print services
  • DevOps & Automation: Platform Engineering, Platform Architecture, Automation and Orchestration, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation), Policy as Code
  • Programming Languages: Python, SQL, PowerShell, C, C++, C#, JavaScript
  • Cybersecurity Compliance: PCI DSS, HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA
  • Cybersecurity Threat Landscape & Frameworks: Zero-day threats, common malware, MITRE ATT&CK, Cyber Kill Chain
  • Enterprise Virtualization Technology: VMware Server/ESX, Hyper-V, Citrix
  • Enterprise Desktop Management & Monitoring: Microsoft System Center, Intune, Autopilot, PDQ Deploy, MDT/WDS
  • Storage Architectures: Fiber Channel, iSCSI, NFS SANs
  • Firewalls & Security Configurations: Cisco ASA, SonicWall, NetScreen, CheckPoint, including ACLs, NAT, VPN Tunneling
  • Routing & Switching: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, and related protocols
  • High Availability & System Architecture: Clustering, Load Balancing, Failover strategies
  • VoIP & Communication Technologies: Voice over IP systems and infrastructure
  • System Migrations: Planning and executing migrations for users, data, and hardware between on-premises and cloud environments
  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate analysis, synthesize complex information, and support data-driven recommendations for clients, exercising sound judgment in evaluating outputs
  • Apply AI technologies (e.g., generative AI, automation tools, data models) to enhance insights, improve delivery efficiency, and elevate the quality of client outcomes

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without limitation or sponsorship now or in the future (e.g., OPT, H-1B visa, TN, etc.)
  • Reside within 50 miles of your assigned office prior to your start date; our culture emphasizes team collaboration within a hybrid work model
  • Ability and willingness to travel (up to 50%); travel expenses covered by West Monroe
  • Experience integrating AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) into day-to-day workflows to enhance productivity and insight generation, coupled with strong critical thinking to assess accuracy, mitigate bias, and ensure high-quality outputs

Pay

The pay rate for this role is $40.00.
