2027 BOLT Intern - Land and Right of Way (OSG)

About the Role

The BOLT (Building Opportunities & Learning Together) Intern Program is Kinder Morgan’s elite summer internship program. Interns spend the summer gaining hands‑on experience in the energy industry while enhancing professional and interpersonal skills through meaningful projects that support the company’s vision of delivering energy to improve lives and create a better world. Kinder Morgan is one of the largest energy‑infrastructure companies in North America, operating approximately 78,000 miles of pipelines and 136 terminals that transport natural gas, gasoline, crude oil, carbon dioxide and more, and store renewable fuels, petroleum products, chemicals, vegetable oils, and other commodities.

Responsibilities

• Support the Land and Right of Way Department with financial tasks related to acquiring and maintaining land rights, easements, and agreements needed to build and operate assets.
• Assist with accurate cost tracking, reporting, compliance, and continuous process improvement for pipeline and infrastructure projects.
• Work side‑by‑side with experienced team members, building connections and learning company practices, procedures, and on‑the‑job training.
• Network with other interns and present a summary of the summer experience to department management and senior business leaders at the end of the internship.

Requirements

• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Demonstrated experience leading teams (school, work, or personal projects) – details to be discussed in the interview.
• Self‑motivated, driven, and strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to speak publicly in front of groups.
• Effective in both team and individual environments.
• Attention to detail and strong computer skills.
• Driven to discover and determined to deliver results.
• Willingness to travel within the United States.
• Work location: Houston Headquarters.
• Successful candidates must clear a drug screen and complete a background check after an offer is extended.
