2027 Amazon Finance Rotation Program - Accounting Intern
About the role
Interns will join Amazon's Global Accounting, an organization committed to building scalable processes and strong internal controls that support Amazon's rapid growth across all lines of operations. We drive timely and accurate financial reporting by enhancing the efficiency of our close processes, and we partner closely with business and technology teams to launch new products and geographies in a well-controlled, automated way. Eligibility requirements
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program (or a sub-matriculation master's degree program completed concurrently with or immediately after your bachelor's degree) with a graduation conferral date between December 2027 and June 2028
- Ability to relocate to Seattle, WA or Arlington, VA
- Ability to complete a 12-week internship starting in May or June 2027 (2-3 standard cohort start dates will be available to select from)
- We are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role
Responsibilities
- Complete a project unique to you and your team, flexing your accounting, analytical, and business acumen to optimize processes, drive quality, and solve real problems
- Partner with teams across accounting, finance, operations, and technology organizations within Amazon
- Deliver a capstone project presentation showcasing your results to stakeholders and leadership
- If Amazon extends an inclined hire decision, you may receive an offer to join Amazon's full-time Accounting Finance Rotation Program (AFRP) after completing your degree
Basic qualifications
- Are 18 years of age or older
- Work 40 hours/week throughout the course of a 12-week summer internship between May through September
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Accounting (or a dual degree/sub-matriculation master's degree program completed concurrently with your bachelor's degree at the same institution) with a graduation conferral date between December 2027 and June 2028
Preferred qualifications
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability for delivering results
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to source, summarize, and communicate data relevant to the problem at hand
- Curiosity and desire to learn complex processes, systems, and business concepts
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and their application in a business context
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data modeling)
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- A practical and creative approach to problem solving, especially in ambiguous situations
- Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- Strong academic record
- Commitment to continuous self-development and professional growth
Pay
80,200.00 - 99,300.00 USD annually (USA, WA, Seattle)
